Emergency Evacuation for Animals in Santa Cruz
Help us rescue horses and other animals from the evacuation zones.
GiveLove is a 501 c 3 and we're giving some fundraising support to help the evacuation teams. Julie Wood is leading the fundraiser and is part of the Equine Rescue community. The funds will get where they need to go.
Over 65,000 people have been forced to leave their homes and beloved animals.
The Santa Cruz County Equine Evacuation Unit and other good Samaritans with trailers have already evacuated over 500 horses, livestock and pets -- from alpacas to donkeys and goats. They evacuated my horse Dusty and so many others who were left behind alone in the fires.
These amazing teams are working with Cal Fire and an army of volunteers to coordinate rescues in closed areas and to feed and care for animals still trapped in these areas. These teams do this work on a voluntary basis with their own money, and many are already struggling due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
100% of these funds will directly support the on-going emergency efforts, as well as trainings to better coordinate response efforts and systems -- in Santa Cruz County and our surrounding areas. We're sheltering at the Santa Cruz Fairgrounds.
These teams are working around the clock to save these animals — putting their lives at risk.
They need your help now! Any small donation will help with fuel and food for animals.
My organization GiveLove is helping this fundraising effort by providing 501 c 3 tax deductions and accounting support.
Love, Alisa
