Happy 2020!!!!  It's been two years since I reached out to you all and asked for for your help.  Yup, it's time for another CROWD FUNDRAISER!!!!  In the past, I have come to you to support me on my yearly brain tumor walk. Whether you walked with me or donated to my team, every little bit of your help and love was so appreciated.  But this year, I wasn't able to do the walk and have decided to do something a little different to earn your hard earned money.  I am GROWING MY HAIR LOOOOOOOOOONG!!!!  This year, I want to donate my hair to Locks of Love and give my hair to a child who needs it.

Here is where I need your help.  For each inch of hair I grow, I want to generate funds for the National Brain Tumor Society to contribute to the research of brain cancer.  Whether this disease becomes controllable by gene therapy, immunotherapy, or nanobots (microbots fighting tumors in our heads!!!), we are really close to finding a solution.  FACT.  Human hair grows (on average) a half of an inch a month, i.e six inches per year.  FACT.  Locks of love needs no less than a 10" ponytail of hair to make a wig.  That means it will take approximately 2 years till it is an appropriate length to donate.  My ultimate goal is to raise $5000 in this campaign by the time my hair is ready for them.  Of course, it will be even better if I can give even more.  I'll be doing the work and you'll be watching the show.  Every dollar WE  raise for the National Brain Tumor Society counts!  Plus, you get to see a 42 year old man trying to look young again.  Please consider donating to this cause as I embark on my journey! Let’s do it together!  Stamp out cancer, for all who are afflicted.

Watch what happens with the hair!!!

For those of you who do not yet know, we lost my wonderful mother, Janet Soucy, on December 7th, after a series of complications stemming from a fall earlier this year. In lieu of flowers, we hope that you consider donating to the National Brain Tumor Society, a wonderful organization whose goal it is to help research, support, and ultimately cure this disease. 

Nearly 20 years ago, my mothers life was changed forever when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. With 3 children under the age of 8, my mom, with an amazing team of surgeons and an a wonderful network of support, defied the odds and survived. We are forever grateful for the nearly 20 years of borrowed time we had with my mother, and for this reason, hope to help families who face similar challenges by raising money for this cause that is so near to our hearts.

As most of you already know, Neal Tessler lost his nearly three-year battle with brain cancer on February 3rd. 

Watching their father struggle with a malignant brain tumor the last three years was devastating to Stevie and Ryan.  Despite going through this tough time, Stevie and Ryan realize how fortunate they were to have had him as a father for 20+ years. 

Neal was strong, courageous, loving, and gentle. He loved his family and friends. He was deeply devoted to his coworkers, students, and soccer team as well.  Neal showed great strength and perseverance up until his final days.  We love him so much and will hold his memory in our hearts forever.  

As we move forward we want to remember Neal as the person who didn’t just want to have acquaintances, he wanted to form bonds. This attitude towards life was infectious to all of those who knew him. Neal always cherished the relationships he formed and went through life with an unwavering generosity and kindness. 
 
To celebrate Neal’s life, Ryan and a few of his friends have signed up to run in the Love Run Philly (Philadelphia Half Marathon) on March 26th to raise money for the National Brain Tumor Society. Following the race, family and friends are welcome to head over to Field House (1150 Filbert St) where we have rented out space to continue the celebration. We will all plan on meeting at Field House around noon.
