To my friends and family,

I am embarking on a mission that weighs heavily on my heart—one that calls for urgent compassion and action. On September 27th, I will be traveling to Africa with a dedicated group of doctors and nurses, united by a common purpose: to provide free, life-saving medical care to children and adults who have been forgotten by the world. These are people who live in conditions so unimaginable, where basic health care is a distant dream, and survival is a daily battle.

The team will perform surgeries that are not just life-saving, but life-changing—cancer surgeries, sight restoration, burn reconstruction, & corrective surgeries for congenital anomalies like clubfoot and cleft palate. The team will also provide vital obstetric & gynecological care. Each surgery is not just a procedure—it is a chance for a new life and a beacon of hope where there was none.

I have dedicated a lot of my life to giving back, starting at 17 when I first stepped into a daycare center to support children with disabilities. Since then, I have tirelessly raised money for charities, but this mission is the most significant undertaking of my life, which I will document, film and share graphic content, but also life changing outcomes.

Hi everyone! My name is Jay – a general surgery resident who is passionate about global surgery. My intentions and my professional career are driven by aspirations of providing surgical care in a safe, accessible and affordable manner, as it should be considered a basic human right for all. The Lancet published an article in 2015 estimating that 4·8 billion people, 68% of the world's population, lack access to adequate surgical care. To address this issue, I will be partnering with Operation International, this October, to assist on a surgical mission trip that provides free surgical care to the local population in Techiman, Ghana. To make this possible, our goal is to raise $2,500 on GoFundMe for which all proceeds will be donated to the local hospital and any efforts providing care for their community.

Hello, I'm LaWanna Joy and I am a Registered Nurse. I've cared for patients in the surgical setting pre and post-op for about 14 years.

I am blessed to be able to offer my experience to a great charity, Operation International. I've joined Operation International to help provide free life saving and life changing surgical procedures to the less fortunate.

This year October I will travel with Team Manhattan to Tanzania Africa to assist with various face and neck procedures. Donations of any size will be well appreciated and go to a wonderful cause.
