Beginning in November of last year, our mom, Laura, began experiencing extreme discomfort from eating. This resulted in her beginning the long process of diagnosis while living with a limited diet and ongoing pain.
In January of this year, we received the official diagnosis that our mom had pancreatic cancer. This came as both a shock and also a relief as we finally had clarity on what was causing her significant discomfort and what her situation was.
She was able to immediately connect with some of the best medical talent and begin intensive treatments.
She has since finished and has rebounded with immense energy which has enabled us to have some epic dance parties and enjoy her full and beautiful presence again. She's also been able to visit the beach again, which is one of her favorite places of peace.
We don't know what the future holds for us but we do know that pancreatic cancer is a horrible thing and it doesn't receive the funding or attention that it should.
Please join Oaklee and I as we dedicate a portion of our wedding celebration attention to raising money and awareness for pancreatic cancer research and treatment for those who are in need. Every dollar you give will fund life-changing programs and services for patients and their families.
We are immensely grateful for you, the support we've received as a family, and for any contributions you are able to make.
