We are raising money to run the 2024 TCS NYC Marathon for the Parkinson's Foundation.
Our names are Jack & George McCain, and we are twin brothers, native New Yorkers, and endurance athletes on the Triathlon Team at Yale University. We recently ran the Jacksonville Marathon, and now we need your help to run the NYC Marathon for the Parkinson's Foundation on November 3, 2024.
Jacksonville Marathon (December 10, 2023)
Our hero and greatest inspiration is our grandfather, Buddy Redd. A U.S. Navy veteran, Buddy always taught us to challenge ourselves and to be fearless in the face of adversity. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease six years ago, and we watched his gradual mental and physical deterioration throughout our high school years. Now, at age 86, he has lost his ability to communicate and to take care of himself, but he still walks (even if only for a couple of steps down the hall), smiles, and laughs with us. I know if he could, he'd be running this race by our side.

Sometimes the disease makes it feel like we've already lost him, but all we can do to honor his memory is to incorporate his spirit into our lives by emulating his kindness, grit, generosity, and perseverance. This is why we want to run the NYC Marathon for the Parkinson's Foundation. We want to run this race for Buddy.
Thanks you so much in advance for your contribution. Anything helps, and our goal is to raise $7500. Your support means the world to us, to Buddy Redd, and to the nearly one million people in the U.S. living with Parkinson's disease. We can't wait for race day.
