Support Mily's Shelter: Donate Kuranda Beds
At 2 months of age Mily was buried alive in Mexicali, Mexico. She was saved and the criminal who done it was sentenced to 2 months in jail (first conviction in the country for animal abuse). In August 2020 when Mily was 6 months old PAWS (Pound Animals Worth Saving) Fur the Cause adopted her to an amazing family. Mily now resides with two Canine siblings (you can see them in the photo). Mily has quite the life, she goes to the lakes, mountains, has birthday parties, Christmas gifts and was meant to live.

Just this year the country of Mexico opened it's first no-kill shelter and they NAMED IT AFTER MILY!!!!. Currently there are 97 dogs and 27 cats at Mily's shelter, on behalf of Mily we are collecting money to purchase KURANDA BEDS for the shelter. CURRENTLY THE SHELTER HAS 8 KURANDA BEDS (from PAWS) and WE ARE WAITING THE ARRIVAL OF 6 MORE BEDS (from our generous team members). PLEASE HELP US HELP THESE ANIMALS BY GIVING THEM COMFORT INSTEAD OF THE HARD FLOOR. Most of these dogs have endured enough already (abuse, neglect, hunger).

HELP US HELP BOOGIE BEAR
Boogie Bear's owner surrendered him to an El Paso, Texas shelter and said he was 16 years old. PAWS then rescued him from the shelter and took him to our vet. Our vet and also dental hygienist said Boogie Bear is 8 years old, not 16 years old. When we rescued Boogie Bear both of his ears looked like a coral reef. The vet did do a scraping and gave a few different medicines but nothing has worked. Poor Boogie Bear cries when he rubs his ears on the floor.

Boogie Bear also has one eye that needs to be removed. Boogie Bear is the most loving and sweetest dog ever. All the monies collected will pay for Boogie Bear's surgery.

Picasso (aka Ruka) NEEDS SURGERY ON 3 BODY PARTS
Picasso (aka Ruka), a 3-year-old male, was found near a street in El Paso, Texas. Picasso was hungry, hair matted and covered in red paint. Once Picasso was groomed, it was apparent something was seriously wrong with his bones. So Picasso's foster and PAWS Team member Sandi took him to Pet Doctor in Chandler for x-rays; Dr. Luis recommended we schedule an appointment with Dr. Christopher Monarski with VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona located in Mesa. Dr. Monarski did more x-rays and a cat scan; the cost was $880, which PAWS paid. Picasso has many orthopedic issues, and Dr. Monarski feels the left elbow, right hip and left knee cap are the most significant. Can you please help us raise the money so Picasso can have his much-needed surgery? Thank you. The PAWS Team.

REMI (Roma) 4 MONTH NEEDS SURGERY TO SAVE HER LIFE
PAWS rescued Remi (Roma) from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control with the knowledge she had a heart murmur. Remi's vet visit indicates she needs Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) Heart Surgery. If Remi does not get this surgery she will not survive past her first birthday.

VetMed Emergency & Specialty Hospital, 20610 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix 85024 will be doing the surgery.

THIS IS REMI'S CONDITION....In affected animals, the pressure change in the heart after birth results in a reverse flow of blood through the still open vessel (from the aorta to the pulmonary artery), which allows for an increased blood flow to the lungs (though, less commonly, the blood will flow in the opposite direction through the vessel). Too much blood in the lungs means fluid build-up. Too much blood in the left side of the heart means the heart has to work harder. Both problems mean this disease will end in heart failure, usually within the first year or two of life, depending on its severity––that is, if the disease remains untreated.
