I grew up watching my mom run Boston. I became inspired by the runners and the dedication it takes to complete the race. I always dreamed of doing Boston one day, but the thought of running a marathon terrified me. Fast forward, I have now completed two marathons and now will be running Boston for the Hopkinton Lions Club raising money for an amazing charity called “Just Because”. This makes the training and race itself so much more meaningful because I am doing it for something much bigger than myself.
There is so much need for things we take for granted such as shoes, coats, school supplies, food. Over the years I have enjoyed volunteering by tutoring in inner city schools and participating in coat drives. I will be running in support of ‘Just Because’ which is dedicated to providing basic necessities to all those in need. I am honored and excited to run on behalf of this charity that allows me to give back to the local community and help families and children with basic necessities. This greater cause is very motivating to me as I train. Every dollar I raise is going to make a difference in the lives of those in our community
