Hello loyal RAMBO supporters! We are kick starting another fundraising campaign to rebuild our dirt pump tracks, resurface the Skills Kitchen, and to build a new boulder garden on Skillet Express. This fundraiser would also contribute to a extension to our Slalom trail in the freeride area up to the top of the dirt jumps and a rebuild on the beginner jump line. The new boulder garden on XC Skillet Express will become a permanent feature for the Quick Six Enduro and will be ridable in the both directions. If we raise enough money, we would like to include covering the Pump Tracks and Skills Kitchen Jump Line and portions of the jumps in the freeride area with trail armor carpet from Jarrod's Place. This addition will greatly increase the life span of these features by reducing the erosion and overall maintenance.

RAMBO has made amazing trail improvements with your membership and donated dollars so lets keep the momentum going! The RAMBO board if directors would like to express our gratitude in advance for your continued support of our local trails. RAMBO is planning to supplement and approved Eagle Scout project for the actual wood drops by building the new trail leading to and from the new drops along with expanding the existing picnic area. We also plan to surround the drop zone with new split rail fencing to separate the bikes from the walking trails in that area. In addition, we plan to use this money to help us purchase a 20' shipping container to store our tools and supplies for our XC events and maintenance and to purchase any material needed to building new signage for this popular entrance to the trails.

Our XC trails are an amazing asset to our community and RAMBO is excited to continue improving them. This project adds another layer of value to our riders and creates and expands our campus of training opportunities. From our pump tracks to our skills area and now the new drop zone, this will create a vibrant and processive experience for riders of all skill levels.

Berms and Rollers, Ladders and Skinnies, Boulders and Bridges are all on the menu! Please help us continue the momentum making Big Creek a local / regional destination for all things MTB! Project is partially funded from our Sponsors Maxxis Tires, Santa Cruz Bikes Pay Dirt Program, Bike Roswell, Sunbelt Rentals and Site One Landscape Supply. These additional funds will help us cover the cost of the lumber, signage and split rail fencing and maintenance budget needed to make this a lasting addition to the parks trail portfolio. Roswell-Alpharetta Mountain Bike Org. (RAMBO ), a Georgia 501(c)3 non-profit and licensed chapter of SORBA/IMBA, is seeking to raise funds for Hollywood (formerly Hawkeye 2). This all-new trail will be a 1/4 mile-long, jump and flow mountain bike trail to be built in the existing freeride bike park area at Big Creek Park, Roswell, Georgia.

Big Creek Park is home to seven miles of cross-country MTB trails and more than 10 Freeride/Expert MTB trails. All mountain bike trails at Big Creek Park are funded, built, and maintained 100% by RAMBO volunteers and its members for the greater benefit of the general public visiting the park. The park, owned and managed by the City of Roswell, is 100% free to all visitors. Big Creek Freeride Area celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, providing trails for tens of thousands of kids and adults to enjoy.

 

READY TO FUND

The Hollywood flow trail project is shovel-ready and approved by the land manager to begin construction, and we're grateful for their partnership.

 

THE BACKGROUND

In 2017, RAMBO self-funded a smaller version of this same type of trail, Hawkeye. Thanks to popular YouTubers such as SteadySpin, Brice Shirbach, and Caleb Jordan, Hawkeye has already drawn visiting riders from across the Southeast and the world, including professional downhill MTB racer, Bernard Kerr (seen in cover shot). Hollywood would further add to our wide variety of progressive mountain bike trails at Big Creek Park, continuing to attract riders to visit and live in Roswell, GA.

 

With the significant increase in ridership at Big Creek Park, in large part, by the Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League (middle and high school athletes) and local residents looking to get outdoors during COVID, the popularity of the park is the highest its been. An investment like Hollywood will benefit, not only the park, but the city at large through more local and regional visitors.

 

 

THE PLAN

The build plan for Hawkeye 2 includes bringing in professional builders from Innovative Dirt Solutions, who have built expert-level trails at large bike parks across the US, including our Hawkeye trail. The proposed 1/4 mile-long flow trail would include a wood technical trail feature to add to the difficulty and optional lines for rider progression. RAMBO volunteers will put in an estimated 500 man-hours of finishing work after the machine rough build is complete (equaling $8,000 in donated value).

 

FUNDRAISING

In order to bring some of the best trail builders to the park for several weeks, heavy machine rental, supplies (such as drain pipes and compactors), lumber, silt fence, and much more, the project requires significant funding. RAMBO is seeking grants and hosting the Big Creek Quick Six Enduro race to help fundraise a portion of the trail's expenses, but we will need the public's help to fill the gap.
