Daraisi Marte, Program Director at Southside Community Center, provides our children with an opportunity to dance in an environment that supports their creativity and self empowerment while encouraging them to flourish well beyond the dance floor. Under Daraisi’s vision and leadership, Revolutionary! dancers are performing more and more and are being recognized by increased opportunities to showcase their hip hop moves! While the dance classes are offered at no costs to participants, there are associated costs that arise for dancers and their families, including dance outfits and occasional travel that, even if not too far, can place a hardship on members. As a community, we want to ensure that costs are not prohibitive to Revolutionary! dancers’ participation and opportunities for recognition. Nobody has more drive and love of dance than these kids, and no one is more committed to finding ways for our dance-loving kids to dance and show the world their talent than Daraisi!
