Run or walk for freedom
Survivor Alliance is an international organisation that unites and empowers survivors of human trafficking and slavery around the world.
This September, our UK-based members will participate in running or walking the Robinhood Half Marathon in Nottingham, UK on September 26th. We are inviting our friends and allies around the world to join us! Walk or run your own half marathon (or further!) and raise awareness about the unique work that we do.
Our work is run by survivors, for survivors. There are currently over 350 survivors in our network, with 90 in the UK, over 100 in the US, 40 in India, 20 in Kenya and many more around the world.
There are two key areas of our work:
1. Community Building: We provide opportunities for our members to connect, learn from each other, and collaborate to make positive change in the world for all survivors.
2. Training Survivor Leaders: This year, we launched Survivors LEAD, a training program for survivors of human trafficking to become leaders in community building, peer-research, direct service, and policy/advocacy work.
Your donation will help us:
* Support training and education for people with lived experience of human trafficking and modern slavery
* Cover the cost of child care so that participants can attend our trainings
* Provide interpreters and translators to ensure members can join from all over the world
* Provide additional mental health and wellbeing support to our survivor leaders
* Close the digital divide and provide laptops to our program participants
