The Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia

The Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia was founded in 1989 G.C. by Dr. Belay Abegaz to provide a free cardiac medical service for children. Since its establishment, the founders with key donors could save more than 9,500 children with heart disease. CHFE has its own state-of-the-art Cardiac Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with all required medical equipment and a professional workforce. But the center is limited in its activities because it lacks consumables that depend on donations.

Due to the length of the waiting list, children are suffering to get free medical services. The Cardiac Center is the sole non-profit cardiac Hospital in the country and it is operating at one-third of its capacity. Reports from the center show that most of the children are operable during their first visit but become inoperable during their waiting days.

This campaign has a goal of raising 100,000 USDs in 2023 to save the lives of 25 children.

Hi! I'm Hildana, and I am a founder of Ethicare, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare access for underprivileged children in Ethiopia. I will be running a half marathon with the goal of raising money to provide essential medical supplies and support to children in need.

From my previous races, I have raised over 550,000 Birr (~$4,200), which has been directed towards children's heart supplies, treatments, and visit costs.

Ethicare is also a proud to partner with the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia, an incredible organization that facilitates heart treatments for children in Ethiopia. They serve as our liaison on the ground, ensuring that our donations are effectively distributed and that children receive the medical attention they desperately need.
