United for a Global Cause
BLK STAR UNTD is a fashion and design company based in the Bay Area, California. Established in 2016 by CEO and Creative Director Gerald Kofi Boateng Ibsen of Accra, Ghana, BLK STAR UNTD has been committed to excellence, pushing African American culture forward by connecting the Blk Star with the world through fashion, arts, and education.
Our sole mission is to free and empower all people of color globally to dream, change and dream big. BLK STAR UNTD is all about unity, celebrating, and creating a vision beyond sight. We believe fashion is the statement of the revolutionary. We create timeless pieces that illuminate the brilliance and elegance of African culture in order to reshape the narrative and misconceptions of the African continent as a whole.
United by our deep and rich roots, we aim to discover, shape and inspire the next generation of African leaders to believe and trust in their dopeness.
The City Eats is a non-profit organization based out of San Francisco, CA dedicated to unifying the community through the purpose of eradicating hunger amongst the inner city homeless population. They personally prepare and distribute balanced meals monthly with love, care, and compassion.
Founded in 2014 by Kieem Baker, The City Eats has raised awareness of homelessness and otherwise forgotten communities and individuals. What started as a dream to help a few people in our local community, has become a nationwide movement. To date, The City Eats has managed to help serve an estimated 5,000 families and individuals a month through our feeding program, and we aim to increase that number every year.
Our team works to form partnerships with other organizations, local businesses, and community leaders to provide an extra level of support for those in need. Donations of both monetary and goods enable The City Eats to provide balanced meals that are assembled by volunteers during our monthly feed events.
Together, we have decided to team up with some friends for a two week trip to Ghana, West Africa, where we plan to help local communities combat food, health and social-economic disparities. Our goal is to raise capital to provide food, clothing, educational materials, and healthcare resources and bring joy to the community of North Kaneshie and Greater Accra, Ghana.
This collaboration is part of a larger effort to connect the diaspora back with the African continent while also recognizing the importance of empowering our youth and strengthening our communities through improving health and education standards. In addition to helping narrow the social, and economic gap amongst African children and the rest of the world. Help us with our cause by donating, volunteering, and purchasing a piece of this exclusive capsule. Let us change the world together, one child and one community at a time.
