On August 28th, 2022–days after I turn 40 years old, I’ll be participating in a personal milestone: the Life Time Chicago Triathalon.
My health journey began in November of 2017, a time when I made lifestyle changes to move through my experience of grief and recovery.
In May of 2020, I took aggressive medical steps (I started taking, and still take, the medication Liraglutide (Saxenda)— which is a GLP-1 Receptor Agonist, prescribed to me by my Endocrinologist for weight loss and to treat obesity-related conditions). Also at that time, I gradually began my fitness journey… all with the goal to turn my health around in the face of my metabolic conditions: Gestational Diabetes and Prediabetes.
As I continue on this journey, I am dedicating the next ~3 months of my triathalon training to benefit a special cause to me: The Maddie Kramer Foundation: Dancing While Cancering.
The Maddie Kramer Foundation: Dancing While Cancering has one sole mission: to bring joy to the inpatient hospital experience for children with cancer. Learn more at dancingwhilecancering.org.
Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution, and, for supporting me on this journey.
