It’s that time of year! Time for The Weekly Weebs’ Annual Nerdvember Fundraiser!! We will continue to raise money for Mission 22 and The Trevor Project as we continue to show awareness for Suicide Prevention!

As a queer woman, I am terrified for my future and the futures of the people I love. the news about the recent election has made me outraged, like many others. I am selling these bracelets, and donating the profits to the Trevor Project and Planned Parenthood in hopes to help other Women and LGBTQ+ people. I know its not a lot, and I can not change much on my own, but it is a good start for the future of not only myself, but everyone else who just wants basic human rights.

Since the fundraiser's conception two years ago, we have successfully raised $10,000. Please help us reach our 2024 goal of $5,000. Lavender Towse was a dedicated cross-country and track athlete throughout their brief life. They were a fierce competitor who embraced both the physical and mental rigors of competition and training. They were a joy on and off the track to so many. While we mourn their passing, we welcome you to donate to the Trevor Project, a nationally recognized organization doing the important work of preventing suicide amongst young LGBTQ+ people.

In my political science class we have a project where we are using civic action to help marginalize communities. I picked the LGBTQ community and specifically the Trevor project to be who receives donations from this project.

Hello I'm Talia, a seventh grader at NCCL school, and this is a project called the Big Give, we are given fifty dollars to help a organization of our choosing, and as a part of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I find it disgusting that people have the ability to kick out their own children for simply being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, that should not be possible, making usually kids or teenagers homeless just for being queer.

I chose the TREVOR Project because I find that it is important that the people in the LGBTQIA+ community are treated the same as their peers, and not discriminated against, whether it be in the workplace, school, home, or even in the general public. They don’t deserve to be treated that way.

The information from The TREVOR Project says that 1.8 million LGBTQIA+ youth in the United States seriously consider suicide each year. The TREVOR Project wants to raise awareness for these issues, they are also the biggest LGBTQIA+ suicide prevention hotline in the world. They want to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning young people.

I want to help the people who are struggling with who they are, and to help spread awareness and information about the people who are in the LGBTQIA+ community, and what the labels mean.
