Save Daxton: Urgent Surgery Needed
UPDATE!!

Daxton is in recovery! We had a couple of anonymous donors who helped fund the remaining needed for Dax to have the life-saving surgery he needed, and he is now recovering quietly in his foster home.

DAXTON was a dog who was on the euthanasia list at the shelter a couple of weeks ago. He had the sweetest disposition and the most outgoing, friendly personality.

But he also had a huge medical issue, which is what landed him on the euthanasia list.

Daxton has a dual perineal hernia, which essentially is the rectum and intestines pushing outside of the body. This is happening on not just one side of his rectum, but both sides. It makes it extremely difficult for him to defecate (poop) and is extremely painful.

After visits with two different specialists, we have finally been able to get a final cost estimate of about $5,000 to do the surgery. Obviously, a smaller rescue like ours, operating on a shoestring budget, does not have these kinds of funds available, and is why we've started this fundraiser to get Daxton the help that he needs.

If we wait much longer, tissue will begin to die, and we will no longer be able to medically correct it.

Daxton loves people, loves other animals, and is about the happiest dog you will ever meet, despite his painful current health status. He deserves a chance to have a normal life, as a normal dog, with a normal future.

Daxton is tentatively scheduled to have surgery Oct 2, IF we can raise the funds to do so!!

Boarding Needed For Dogs in Deadly Heat
SOS!!! Dogs dying in extreme heat!!!!

Oops, Rosie, Clyde, Duke and Hot Rod are a group of 5 dogs who we were asked to Courtesy Post after their owner died and were left on the property. THEY HAVE BEEN LIVING OUTSIDE ALL THIS TIME in Phoenix, Arizona with temperatures reaching up to 115 degrees. Hot Rod died yesterday out in the heat and one is now really sick.

We have GOT to get the remaining 4 out of the heat and inside.

We need to raise funds for boarding. It’s estimated to be about $1600/month for all 4 dogs. To be safe we would like raise enough money to get them boarded for 2 months.

Thank you in advance for the donations. You are truly saving their lives. We wouldn’t need to ask for help if people would adopt or foster but it’s been extremely hard because most people that would like to are at capacity.

UNDERDOG NEEDS YOUR HELP
Underdog needs your help. Our Rescue has taken in multiple medical dogs this past year-- many more than usual. Although we have always been a small-time operation, with very little in the way of resources, we have always found a way to take a dog when asked~ we are in danger of having to say "NO" for the unforeseeable future, something we've never had to do due to lack of funds.

The number of medical dogs we've saved this year has eaten up almost every ounce of the Rescue's funds --the situation is now dire, with literally only a couple hundred dollars left in the Rescue's account. Amputations, broken bones & torn ACL's, cancerous tumors, rampant Distemper & Valley Fever, Heartworm, countless ear & eye infections and more dogs with respiratory Pneumonia requiring hospitalization than we can count. All of which has led to thousands of dollars of medical bills with both our contracted Vet as well as our Care Credit account, approaching a total of $15k.

While our Vet has always been beyond patient and understanding, we have gotten to a point where they too need to be realistic in how much more grace they can give.

If we are temporarily unable to vet or medically treat the animals we have, we will not be able to rescue any new animals. This would be tragic for the people who contact us daily looking for help, along with the dogs on the euthanasia list at County that we will no longer be able to save or take.

PLEASE consider helping us reach our goal so we can continue doing what we do. No amount is too small-- even $5 will help, if 1,000 folks can see it in their heart to do. We are looking for some Christmas miracles or maybe just a few amazing guardian angels~

Underdog Rescue of Arizona, an East Valley based dog rescue in Phoenix, AZ. We strive to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Underdog Rescue of Arizona is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based dog rescue dedicated to rescuing and re-homing shelter dogs rescued from the euthanasia list and abandoned dogs in need. We are run entirely by volunteers and fosterers that are dedicated to helping out our dogs. We rescue and re-home dog s of all ages, sizes, and breeds. In addition, we are an advocacy group, striving to educate the public on the issue of animal welfare. Working on shelter reform, spay and neuter education, the responsibilities of raising dogs, and emergency rescue. At Underdog Rescue of Arizona, we believe that all dogs deserve caring, responsible homes.
