Andrew McLeavy is fundraising
60 miles celebrating 6months of life.
Hi All. First off, thank you for visiting and thinking about donating to this new found special cause of mine.
For those that don’t know me, I’m Andy, and on March 5th 2023, I broke my neck in a swimming pool accident. For those that already know me, I want to share my deepest gratitude for the amazing love and support you’ve showed to me and my family so far.
Through the work of incredible doctors, amazing care & physical therapy teams, and unconditional love and support from my wife, family, and friends. I have been very fortunate to regain a relatively normal life. I truly feel blessed. Sadly, this is not the case for everyone. Many people who sustain injuries like mine are often changed forever. Both physically and emotionally, and have to adapt to a whole new way of life.
That is where Wings for Life come in. They are a charity who raise funding for critical spinal cord injury and rehabilitation research projects; like the very research that led to the exact surgery that has given me a second chance at life, and will continue to help other neuro-injured people well into the future.
Today (September 5th, 2023), marks 6months on from my accident. To celebrate this second chance at life, I want to raise money and awareness for the incredible work that this organization does. To do this, I am committing to run 60miles over the course of September, and attempt to raise money for Wings for Life. I will be sharing my story across social media, and ask that you kindly show your support, and donate if possible to help give many other people in the future a second shot at life.
