Hi family, friends and internet friends. Today is my 30th birthday and maintaining the tradition I'm challenging you to celebrate it by donating to a worthy cause.
For my 28th, we raised over $2,800 for The Last Mile — a program that helps incarcerated individuals successfully reenter society through business and technology training and education. For my 29th, we raised over $2,900 for The Inneract Project — a program that empowers underrepresented youth, primarily serving middle and high school youth of Black, Latinx and/or low-income backgrounds through design education and links them to opportunities to explore design in career and life.
Access to education even in my untraditional path to learning design, technology and programming is the reason I'm able to be a working individual today. Yesterday, the Taliban decreed an official ban on all Afghanistan Women from any university education. This is a humanitarian crisis, a direct violation of human rights, education is the key way we continue to grow, elevate and learn as a society.
Since 1993, Women for Women International has invested in the power of over 500,000 women impacted by war and conflict and helped them to rebuild their families and communities. They help women find a voice and implement programs in these countries where women's rights are being violated.
As winter continues, a lack of education for these Afghan women means a lack of job opportunities, and the threat of famine is real. Your donation will provide garden kits, cash transfers, psychological first aid, and foundational training that helps women know and defend their rights in the region.

The money we collectively raise goes directly to Women for Women. Thank you for reading and taking action with me ❤️
