Music in Australia - Here I Come!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dylan Loew and I am 17 years old and a junior at Central Valley High School in Spokane, Washington. I have been given an extremely rare opportunity, only offered to a select few each year, and I need your help! I am honored to have been selected as one of only 13 high school musicians to represent the United States in Australia this fall.

I have played Alto Sax for 7 years. Currently, I play lead alto in my school's Jazz 1 group, as well as, principal Saxophonist in our Wind Ensemble, the group's Sax Quartet, Pit Orchestra and Marching Band. In addition, I play Bass Clarinet in the school's Symphony Orchestra.

In order to cover my financial obligations (participation fees, airfare & taxes, hotels and food costs), I need help from people like you! Any contribution, or sharing of my fundraising campaign, would be greatly appreciated! If you prefer to donate directly rather than via the online campaign, please contact me and I will provide appropriate information. Every penny helps me reach my goal!

In the fall of 2015, 13 high school honor band musicians were selected from over 1000 Western International Band Clinic (WIBC) auditions as the United States representatives at the 2016 Pacific Honours Ensemble Program (PHEP) in Australia. The WIBC Board of Directors selected these top students from various high schools throughout the United States. Recognition was awarded during the November 2015 WIBC event in Seattle, WA.

We are the only International guests to be involved in this prestigious event! From September 23 - October 3,  the finest young musicians from across the state of Queensland will join us to work under the direction of a team of eminent international and national conductors. The program offers the pursuit of excellence to young ensemble-based instrumentalists in Wind Orchestras, String Orchestras and Choral Ensembles. This intensive four-day program culminates in four gala concerts in the world-class Conservatorium Theatre at Griffith University, situated in the heart of the arts precinct, in Brisbane.

My long-term goal is to pursue a career in musical performance and/or education coming out of college. This opportunity will expose me to world-class musicians who share my ambitions. With your assistance, I'm excited to be representing the U.S. performing in the Pacific Honours Ensemble Program and hope to gain invaluable skills from the journey.
