Ontario is the only province that PROHIBITS use of the title 'doctor' by a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) while providing audiovestibular care for patients with hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, balance disorders etc.. The Ontario licensing body found her guilty of misconduct for using her title, suspended her license, and levied a punitive fine of $97,595. She is recognized as Dr. Brenda Berge, AuD and may use her title in every other province in Canada, all of North America (all 50 states & Mexico), Europe, Australia, etc. Read the article in the National Post of the photo you see herein: http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/audiologist-launches-charter-challenge-for-right-to-be-called-doctor
A Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) must 1st earn a bachelor degree, the complete a 4 year doctoral program. This professional school is akin to other 'doctors' recognized for providing health care in Ontario. It follows the well established medical model (4 yr bachelaurette followed by 4 yr professional school), similar to physicians (M.D.), dentists (D.D.S), and optometrists (O.D.)
She is defended by Canada's leading consitutional lawyers for the last decade. Read his credentials and rating at: http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/press-release/morris-manning-qc-honored-for-excellence-in-litigation-by-worldwide-registry-404454.php

This reason for this appeal based upon the fundamental premise that, by virtue of use of the title, immediately informs and assists patients (often the most vulnerable in our society including the elderly and disabled) in making informed choices for seeking out the most qualified professional for their non-surgical hearing and balance care. We trust that professionals and the public at large see the need to address an antiquated and irrational provincial health law.
We thank you for your support !
