Justice For Annie

My name is Gina Semioli. On October 9,2015 my little sister Annie was hit by a truck and left on the side of the road. The person who struck and left her turned himself in 7 days later. We came to find out that he did not have car insurance. It has been 10 months since her accident. Annie is now home with around the clock nursing care. She has nurses 16 hours a day and the other 8 hours from midnight till 8am my parents care for her. My mother sleeps right next to Annie's bed. Annie does not walk or talk. She is repositioned every two hours to prevent bedsores. She eats through a feeding tube. I am starting this GoFund Me for her medically expenses that insurance does not cover. Since Annie has been home she has not received any physical therapy. Her insurance company does not think it's necessary. I could not disagree more. She needs to be stretched out and her muscles need to be moved. We do as much as we can but we are not professionals. We would like to get her physical therapy but it is quite expensive. We have been getting her acupuncture 2 times a week which seems to be helping with her alertness. She will turn her head at time when her name is called. It costs us $200.00 per session for acupuncture. We have noticed a difference and don't want money to be the reason we have to stop! We want to give her every possible option to get better! My mother started to buy food for her called "Liquid Hope" it is real food that goes into her feeding tube. The insurance will cover Osmolite which is All dairy based and Annie is dairy sensitive!! We want to continue to be able to give her all she needs. Since the person who hit her didn't have insurance my sister has not received anything from him. Her insurance policy was exhausted since her hospital bills are over a million dollars. Our lives have been forever changed by this person. we just want to make sure Annie gets all she needs.
