The Hardy Family Concert
Over the past year, I have had the privilege of attending and listening to two fantastic opera singers who happen to also be my friends. Opera is something I knew very little about before meeting them but have grown to appreciate it and now I want to share them with all the Atlanta people I know!!
I am organizing an informal concert at Kouzina Christos restaurant on June 3rd, 2013 at 6pm. However, concerts of any size cost money. So I am setting up this donation site with hopes that my friends, family, and cultural arts lovers will help support me in sharing opera in a slightly different way. (Everyone is welcome to attend the show, donation or not)
Kouzina Christos address: 1453 Terrell Mill Road, Marietta GA.
This is how it works. You donate and if I don't reach my goal of $1500 by June 1st, 2013 you will not be charged....and the show will not happen. If I DO reach my goal then you and your family will get to enjoy a wonderful up close opera experience that you can't get in the concert halls. Did I mention that their daughter is practicing her singing voice too? This would be a great time to let her shine so let's make it happen!
Now, a quick tidbit about Jason and Carrie Hardy.....
Jason Hardy's debut was with the New York City Opera. He was a regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Nationa Council Additions, National Finalist for the Lyric Opera of Chicago Center for American Artists, Grand Prize-Winner of both Florida Grand Opera Competition and the Heinz Rehfuss Singing Actor Competition, and a winner in the Liederkranz Foundation, Palm Beach Opera, Forth Worth Opera, Opera Birmingham, Connecticut Opera, and the Oratorio Society of New York vocal competitions. Just to name a few....
Carrie Kahl-Hardy's debut was with the Seattle Opera and the Seattle times hailed her as "a wonderfully ardent, fresh-voiced Composer". Other operas include the Cleveland and Baltimore Concert Opera, Berkshire Opera, Augusta Opera, and Atlanta Opera. In addition to all of these, she sang at the Bar Harbor Music Festival, with the Atlanta Ballet, Seattle Symphony, Emory University Chorus, Atlanta Sacred Chorale, and toured with the Atlanta Opera's production of La boheme.
These two are amazing talented people! Please help me show them off.
