Barclay Farm Animal Sanctuary

We are a small rescue in Custer, Washington. We do not rehome, we keep each and every animal that we rescue and treat them as family. We have rescued over 200 animals in a year. We love what we do but it requires us to sacrifice so much. We spend over $1,000.00 a month just to feed these animals. We have Rowdy who we rescued from the veal truck, Bella a free Martin cow who would have been destroyed in a matter of days. We have taken in retired equine therapy horses and show horses to finish their years with the dignity and respect that they deserve.  We mash up over 60 pounds of senior feed a day to keep these horses in top condition. We have rescued dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and even a skink with a calcium deficiency. Some years back I personally went through the trauma of domestic violence. I realized that my rescue animals were my escape. They were my sanctuary and they gave me the courage and strength to get out. They rescued me as much as I rescued them and for that I will be forever grateful to them. Their healing power is amazing and scientifically proven. We love the animals, but we need help to give them the quality of care that they deserve. We give everything that we have but some months it's just not enough.
