Help Darice and Lyall
Donativo protegido
I am sure we have all had moments in our lives where we have
felt helpless and asked the question: Why do bad things happen to beautiful
people? and what can I do to help? I don't think the first question will ever
be answered but I also can't sit back and see my gorgeous friend fight for her
life while medical bills pile up on her bed. This is not the time to have those
stresses added to an already stressful situation. Darice is my closest friend
of 34 years, and is like family to me. We spent half of our lives in each
other's family homes and have shared the ups and downs of life together, so it
was shocking and heartbreaking to hear that she had been diagnosed with stage 3
cancer.
Darice's type of cancer is quite rare so there is not a lot of research about it. It is called Adenocarcinoma and the doctors believe it started in her appendix and then invaded multiple organs. She has had massive surgery to remove what was left of her appendix as well as other affected organs. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and may also need to have radiation treatment. Through all of this, it is difficult to put into words how incredibly brave she has been - she has already overcome so much and continues to be strong while facing some very big bumps in the road to her recovery.
Everyone who has ever met Darice and Lyall love them, and for good reason. Because of this, they have an amazing group of friends and family praying for them and supporting them emotionally, but the realities of not working and earning their regular income but still having regular expenses PLUS all the accumulating medical bills, would be pretty overwhelming and scary for anyone. If I can help ease some of that stress so that they can focus on her health, I might feel just a little less helpless. As Darice's friends, colleagues or acquaintances, you might be feeling a little helpless too, so please participate in donating if you can and if you can't, send prayers and healing energy to her.
I said to her: You have been to hell and back. Her reply: I'm not sure I'm back yet. I love my friend so much and she deserves to be healthy and happy - let's help her get "back".
Thank You!
