I am Aya Mohammad, born and raised in the resilient city of Gaza, carrying with me dreams of a stable and hopeful future. Recently, I had to leave Gaza with my mother for urgent medical treatment in Egypt, but the essence of Gaza—its spirit, its struggles, and above all, my family—remains deeply rooted in my heart. Our days in Gaza were once filled with the simple joys of family and stability, but the ongoing war has turned our lives upside down.

My family, numbering 17 souls including 7 innocent children, still resides in the Gaza Strip, where they are struggling every day to survive amid unimaginable hardships. My father, an elderly and ailing man, invested his entire life savings into building a home for us, only to see it destroyed in the devastation of war. The loss of our home means the loss of our childhood memories, our safety, and the fruit of decades of sacrifice. The pain of watching my father, already weakened by illness, endure the heartbreak of losing everything he worked so hard for is indescribable.

As I stand far away with my mother for her treatment, my heart remains with my family in Gaza. I find myself in an incredibly difficult position—unable to provide them safety, shelter, or relief from afar. That is why today, I humbly appeal to your kindness and humanity. Your generous contributions will help us secure food, clothing, and urgent living necessities, provide temporary tents and shelter instead of being left homeless in the streets, and rebuild our destroyed home piece by piece.

أنا آية محمد، ولدت وترعرعت في مدينة غزة الصامدة، أحمل في داخلي أحلامًا بمستقبل مستقر ومليء بالأمل. مؤخرًا، اضطررتُ لمغادرة غزة مع والدتي لتلقي علاج طبي عاجل في مصر، لكن روح غزة – بصمودها ومعاناتها، وقبل كل شيء بعائلتي – ما زالت متجذرة في قلبي. كانت أيامنا في غزة مليئة ببساطة الحياة ودفء العائلة، لكن الحرب قلبت حياتنا رأسًا على عقب.

عائلتي المكوّنة من 17 نفسًا، بينهم 7 أطفال أبرياء، ما زالوا يعيشون داخل غزة يكافحون يوميًا من أجل البقاء وسط ظروف لا تحتمل. والدي، الرجل المسن والمريض، أنفق مدخرات عمره كلها لبناء بيت يأوينا، لكنه انهار تحت أنقاض الحرب. بفقدان بيتنا، فقدنا ذكريات طفولتنا، وأماننا، وثمرة كفاح عقود طويلة. والأصعب من ذلك هو رؤية والدي، المُنهك أصلًا بمرضه، يتجرع ألم خسارة كل ما عمل من أجله طوال حياته.

وبينما أقف بعيدًا مع والدتي للعلاج، يظل قلبي مع عائلتي في غزة. أعيش وضعًا بالغ الصعوبة، عاجزة عن تأمين المأوى أو الحماية لهم من مكاني هذا. ولهذا أناشد إنسانيتكم وعطفكم اليوم. تبرعاتكم الكريمة ستساعدنا في تأمين الطعام والملابس والاحتياجات المعيشية العاجلة، وتوفير الخيام والمأوى المؤقت بدل التشرد في الشوارع، والمساهمة في إعادة بناء بيتنا المدمر حجرًا فوق حجر.
