Hurricane Relief Fund
Donation protected
Every year, powerful hurricanes tear through defenseless communities and leave extensive damage in their wake. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts another active hurricane season starting in 2021.
In response, we are reopening the Hurricane Relief Fund, an ongoing fund that supports urgent and long-term relief efforts for hurricane victims across the US. This includes efforts like erecting temporary shelters, distributing food and water, providing medical care, and more.
Join us in supporting hurricane victims today. Your one donation allows us to respond to disasters with speed and support a range of needs related to hurricane relief efforts.
With donations made to this ongoing fundraiser, GoFundMe.org, an independent 501(c)(3), will issue rapid grants to individuals, organizations, and communities that have either been impacted themselves or are dedicated to helping those affected by hurricanes.
Please note: All funds raised during a calendar year will benefit hurricane victims of the same year. For example, the 2020 hurricane season donations supported those affected by 2020 hurricanes, and so forth. As of August 20, 2021 we have reopened the fund for the 2021 season.
In 2020, $86,402 was raised in this fund, and was distributed as follows:
- 119 grants to individual fundraisers benefiting people who were directly affected by hurricanes during the 2020 season
- Over $5,000 granted to SBP (St. Bernard's Parish) for longer-term relief and rebuilding efforts necessary due to the hurricanes from the 2020 season
Funds raised on this campaign will be managed by GoFundMe.Org, an independent non-profit organization registered in the United States (EIN 81-2279757). Donors support the GoFundMe.Org fund and GoFundMe.Org selects and then distributes donations to verified GoFundMe campaigns and aid to organizations that help those affected. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
