A Fresh Start for Ändrea & Grace

Donation protected
I am organizing this campaign because right now Ändrea & Grace need some help.

As all of us come to know sooner or later, in spite of our best intentions, prayer and planning: life throws us curveballs.

Below is Ändrea's story of overcoming--- highlighting her triumphs rather than reflecting on the struggles.

THE NEED:
*Lawyer Invoices Still to Pay: $45,000++
(please note: she has already personally paid almost this amount)
*Money borrowed from friends/family: $7,000
*Legal work for setting up a new Trust for Grace: $2,000
*Costs of Refinancing Home: $3,500
*Upcoming Reviews with Court: $10,000
*Funds needed to get company up and running: $3,000

THE BACKSTORY:
The below story is to thoroughly explain, that Ändrea is NOT someone who gives up...no matter what the circumstances. She continues to praise God for all of the blessings in her life and has been an example of perseverance and inspiration to not only her daughter, but also to her friends and peers. She is NOT someone looking for a hand out, as she is traditionally the one who loves to be the giver. She truly believes that the circumstances & adversities that she has faced, are all for a greater good and that her story will be able to inspire others to never give up. I have yet to see her with a "woe is me" attitude for even one day.

Financially, due to the massive legal fees surrounding her circumstances and the loss of income...Ändrea and Grace now have a huge amount of debt. She is in the midst of trying to refinance the house that Grace grew up in, in order to pay everyone off. They have no money whatsoever in savings, and they are "flying without a parachute" financially. Ändrea has been extremely savvy to live on very little, in using food banks for her groceries and selling any household items she can in order to make payments needed. Her lawyer was kind enough to give her an extension on her legal fees.  Over the past 20 years, Ändrea did her absolute best to be a steadfast wife and a great mother, in spite of some unfortunate obstacles. She has worked very hard during the past year to pay for everything on her own. She covered all the costs for herself and Grace until the legal bills started taking over.

My goal is to help set her up with hopefully a little less debt and/or for her to be able to put some money into savings in case of emergency and to have at least a small safety net in caring for Grace. I know that Ändrea will be very careful with any funds that come her way.

In early 2019, matters at home started to implode beyond manageability, however she was determined not to give up. Ändrea scrambled to try and "help" in any way possible, all of which seemed to just magnify the situation.  Eventually she learned that in order for things to improve...she needed to stop trying to control the plummeting situation and hand it over to God. In the summer of 2019, things came to a head and some traumatic incidents took place, which ultimately resulted divorce proceedings that took 14+ months and during that time, the Construction Company closed, the Consulting Company came to a halt and Ändrea lost all of her benefits and income and was unable to work due to the continuing litigation and COVID-19.  During the stay-at-home order, she spent much time responding with court proceedings & litigation as well as providing at home schooling for Grace.   Ändrea also invested the time to take over 300 hours of online classes (37 new certifications) and became equipped in yet another area of expertise to launch a new division of her company (Home Inspections.) She is currently getting ready to begin marketing her new company after Labor Day. She is doing her best to scrape together the funds to buy the equipment she needs and has applied for some grants with the State of Michigan. She decided to launch this new avenue of her business in order to have a flexible schedule as she is now the sole caregiver/physical custodian for her daughter.

Grace has also been excelling in spite of life’s trials and continues to maintain High Honor Roll at School.  She is also very dedicated to Volleyball, Basketball & Soccer where she strives to excel in her athleticism as well as cultivate great sportsmanship. Grace has a sincere heart for others and is always looking to help out & mentor fellow schoolmates & athletes. She is well known for wearing her heart on her sleeve, her love of animals, sports and wearing crazy/cool socks.

During the past year, Ändrea has been heavily involved in Alanon & the HAVEN programs. Grace has also been involved in Alateen where she has had the opportunity to tell her story at some conferences and open talks to encourage others that they too, can make it through life's curveballs.  In knowing Ändrea, I am confident that as soon as she is back on her feet, she will turn right back around and continue to help others in similar situations. She will continue to let God's light shine through her and reflect onto others.
