In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, members of our community -- including a number of employees with personal ties and family in Afghanistan -- have called on the BuzzFeed team to lend our platform and voice to support relief efforts to those most in need. Now more than ever, it is critical that we join forces with our audience to raise awareness and donations for community-led organizations that are on the ground helping to provide relief.

Collectively, we can make a difference. We hope to make the biggest impact possible by creating this central fund to support a variety of organizations providing basic necessities, education, and protection to displaced and at-risk Afghans and journalists. Our commitment is to leverage our platform and reach to help fuel these organizations with the resources to continue their incredible work. Every dollar counts.

Donations made to this fundraiser will be managed by GoFundMe.org, a 501(c)3 public charity, which will be providing grants to vetted nonprofit organizations providing crucial humanitarian aid to those impacted by this crisis.
