Christmas Cheer for Western Kentucky

Hi, my name is Lauren, and I am fundraising to bring some Christmas cheer to Western Kentucky families who were devastated by the tornadoes of December 10-11, 2021. I have lived in Atlantic Canada since 2011, but I grew up in Western Kentucky, so my heart lives in two places now. Never has my heart longed to be back in Kentucky more than this past weekend as I scrolled through the news and footage of Mayfield, Dawson Springs, Bremen, and other towns affected by the horrific storms.

My sister and her family live just three miles from the center of one of the storms, and while they were spared, many of their friends and acquaintances lost their homes, loved ones, and their sense of security. Feeling helpless here in Nova Scotia, 1600 miles away from Kentucky, the only thing I can do is raise money and bring some Christmas cheer to the families that are affected.

One family lost their home and all their belongings, including all their Christmas gifts. Another family has lost their home, and there is no word on the safety of their horses and dogs, including week old puppies. Another family's beloved grand piano has sustained water damage and missing keys. And these are just a few of the stories of friends I'm hoping to help.
