It is with a heavy heart that I write this,
On the morning of 21 June 2024, my brother in law Alen was in a near fatal crash near Daylesford on his way to work. The car crash left him with lacerations all over, several broken ribs, a broken leg and severe head and brain injuries which led to him being in an induced coma in the ICU at the Alfred Hospital. During those first few days, his wife and 2 children did not know what would be the outcome of his accident. He was injured severely at the scene of the accident and airlifted 2 hours later to the Alfred Hospital to undergo several major surgeries.
Thankfully a few days later Alen has woken up from his induced coma however has a long road ahead of him for recovery. Unfortunately, the length of recovery is unknown and Alen is still coming to from his accident and we do not know when he will be able to start his physiotherapy and recovery from breaking several bones. His brain injury is also affecting him and the family are greatly distressed by the accident and ordeal.
During this extremely difficult time, I seek your support for my sister in law, niece and nephew. Alen has 2 children aged 10 and 3 and they are missing their father dearly. We do not know when Alen will be back on his feet and this has placed a great financial strain on the family while my sister in law, his wife Elma tries to pick up the pieces of what she can. As a family we have banded together to help her financially as much as we can but we do not know how long Alen will be incapable of working and to assist his children with whatever they need during these trying times I ask for your support by donating any amount you are able to support them.
Alen is someone who would help any one who asks him. He never says no and has done a lot of free work as a tradie and tiler for many people without ever complaining or asking for anything in return. He would give the shirt off his back if you asked him and is the type of person that no matter how busy his day is, he will make time for you and help you with whatever you need, even if it’s just to consult him on something quickly or if he has to come and physically help with a heavy job. He has a big heart, never missed calling on a birthday and always checks in on all of his friends and family regularly. He has been the heart and center of many family gatherings always preparing BBQs and parties at his home and welcoming everyone with open arms. He has always been the one to offer to help for any expenses and help out any clubs or charities when they needed him. I would not be asking for this if it wasn’t for his character and good deeds which I am sure many of his friends and family have been the beneficiary of.
If you know Alen and Elma personally and when you think of them I am sure you think of the first people who are offering a helping hand where they can, always around when you need them and always welcoming to their home with open arms.
Most importantly, their two beautiful children, my niece and nephew need all the support they can get at this time and should not bear the cost of their dad’s accident. We ask your assistance in any way you can, as many of you know it can take time to get any financial assistance from any government incentives and this would greatly assist Alen and his family in his time of need.
We all hope to have Alen home as soon as possible and while he recovers from his accident we hope to alleviate any financial strain on him and his family.
If any one has any questions you can reach out to me directly.
Thank You for reading this far.
