Flood Relief - My Dad's Book Store
Donation protected
Hurricane Lane's devastating rains have flooded my father's downtown Hilo bookstore, Stillife Books. My name is Tamara White, and I am seeking aid to help my father, Royce Wilson, re-build his business due to flooding. The majority of the store's inventory is ruined beyond repair. There wasn't any flood insurance. For my father (affectionately known by locals as 'The Bookman'), this store was his life's work; his dream, and his sole income. He spent decades collecting quality rare books and vinyl records. At 73 years old, starting over can be incredibly difficult. For well over a decade, Stillife Books has been a pillar of the community, providing locals and tourists with quality merchandise for their reading and musical needs. I am reaching out to aid my father in recovery of his business. He will need to restore the majority of his lost inventory, not to mention required shelving furniture, possible relocation expenses, paying rent for a lease that is not receiving business due to flooding, and lost business. These costs can range up to around $30,000. Funds are needed immediately to help re-establish business as soon as possible. Your donation is very much appreciated. Thank you.
