Support families impacted by police murder & corruption attend the 2nd Annual Families United 4 Justice National Network Gathering!  This is a fundraiser specifically for the US SouthWest Region, including the states of Nevada, Southeastern California, Arizona and New Mexico.  So far we have identified at least 9 family members impacted by police violence who would like to attend this very special event held at the end of June (June 28th-July 1st).  The family members are from local cases you may have heard of including:  Tashii Brown (killed by Las Vegas Metro Police May, 2017), Keith Childress, Jr. (killed by Las Vegas Metro Police, Dec, 2015), National Pickett (killed by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept, Nov 2015) , and Rex Wilson (killed by Las Vegas Metro Police, Oct, 2016).

Funds raised will pay for travel, hotel expenses and food for the days of the gathering.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1.  Why should I support families impacted by police violence?
a.  Families affected by police violence have no resources.  Due to the nature of the incident, families are 99% of the time ineligible for Victims of Crime compensation and receive no support when their loved one is all of a sudden killed, whereas Victims of Crime are privy to $10k-$100k for burial fees, income support and healthcare services.

b.  Families affected by police violence are one of the most marginalized and vulnerable populations who have even been ignored by activist movements.  Through the struggle to navigate the criminal justice system, families have come to realize the great need for them to self-organize and empower each other through meeting each other, bonding, and sharing resources.

2. What is Families United 4 Justice ?
Families United 4 Justice was established in 2014 by Cephus "Uncle Bobby X" Johnson, the uncle of police murder victim, Oscar Grant, and the late Cynthia Howell, the niece of police murder victim, Alberta Spruill.  It is a growing nationwide collective of families impacted by police violence (which includes brutality, murder, negligence and corruption) building for collective and political power.  Please visit the website for more information:  http://fu4jnetwork.org and our Facebook page:  http://facebook.com/FamiliesUnited4Justice

3.  What happens at the National Network Gathering?
Affected families from across the nation come together to meet each other, bond, share resources, and attend a series of relevant workshops, including legal services, alternative healing methods, mental health resources, and guerrilla media tactics.  From last year's gathering, families who participated left feeling revived, connected, empowered and determined to return to their homes to continue advocating for their loved ones' cases and other impacted families.
