100% of the money will be used to buy food from local restaurants who are reeling from the coronavirus while feeding our healthcare workers on the front-lines battling this pandemic.
             

I never thought I'd find myself copying my son - but here we go. It is with great pleasure that I announce our commercial brokerage team will be copying the efforts of my son and his friends in Philadelphia. They have already raised over $40,000 and started delivering meals to local Philly hospitals.  Inspired by their success, we plan on recreating their efforts in Boston. In doing so, we hope many more cities will duplicate these efforts around the region, state and - why not - the country.  We plan on starting with The Carney Hospital in Dorchester: the first hospital in the country to be 100% dedicated to patients with the Coronavirus. The meals will come from a handful of local restaurants.

Here’s what we’re doing:

1. We’re partnering with local restaurants that are struggling to survive and providing local hospitals with catered meals for all of their healthcare workers.

2. We’ve created a GoFundMe to raise money to support these heroes during this incredibly difficult time. 100% of donations will be used to feed our healthcare heroes.

3. Depending on the amount of money we raise, we will provide as many meals to Boston-area hospitals as we can and will roll out in new cities if there is enough money.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Whether it’s $1 or $1,000,000 dollars, it doesn’t matter. Anything helps.

2. Do your part and stay inside. This isn’t a joke and it’s not a drill. It’s the most serious global crisis that has ever happened to any human being alive today, so don’t take it lightly.

The human spirit is truly amazing. Earlier this week, New York asked for retired and private practice doctors to volunteer as the system was experiencing a stress test like never before. Within the hour, over 1000 nurses and doctors had volunteered, many of them retirees, putting them smack in the middle of the danger zone. The definition of heroism is happening right before our eyes. 

While many of us are working from home, worrying about our 401k’s or if Netflix will run out of original content by the time things can go back to normal, many people are wondering where their next meal will come from, if there will be a hospital bed for them if they get sick, or how they’re going to survive without being able to work for an indeterminate amount of time. 

It’s our duty to help protect these people in times of need. It’s the human thing to do. 

We were thinking of how we could step up and after watching an incredible video going viral of a group of apartments surrounding a hospital applauding and cheering as the Doctors and Nurses finished their shift, we came up with a plan. 

We wanted to highlight our Healthcare workers who are on the front lines right now. Overworked, understaffed, separated from loved ones, exhausted and hungry, these warriors are fighting every hour of every day to save our loved ones and keep the rest of us safe. 

So while you may not have a million dollars to donate, you’re likely asking yourself “How can I help?”
