Help my family evacuate from Gaza

It is an urgent time, any day delayed means we are closer to death. Any amount can help save the lives of my family who are currently in Gaza.

My name is Rozan Alkhateeb, a 31-year-old, Palestinian residing in Gaza City. I’m an Engineer and a Graphic designer who has lived through the various wars and escalations in Gaza- in 2008,2012,2014 and 2021. Just as I was starting to recover from the PTSD of the previous conflicts, the recent war brought catastrophe and destruction. I find myself compelled to seek your urgent assistance.

As the war on Gaza began after October 7th; my whole family members were forced to be displaced from our house -located at Rimal neighbourhood which is the most beautiful and prestigious place at Gaza City. We went to the middle area looking for a safe place. We suffer from the disruption of communication, and access to food, water, electricity, and necessities became scarce.

The safe place we fled to, which we thought was safe, was not so. We miraculously escaped death and lived through difficult moments when a house next to us was bombed. My house where I lived my childhood and dreams, was destroyed and now it became a pile of rubble.

I work remotely for a company, but due to the interruption of the Internet service and the lack of electricity, I lost my job and now I no longer have a source of income.

My neighbourhood is also destroyed I can barely identify it. I lost many of my friends and I didn’t even say farewell to them.

Even 146 days have passed since the atrocities began, the war hasn’t stopped and the bombing is continuous.

The continuous bombardment and the ongoing genocide pose a significant threat to our well-being. It deeply distresses me that my family is suffering so much. The only way to help them is to leave Gaza to save their lives.

There exists a secure and legitimate avenue for urgent travel through the Rafah border crossing to Egypt, requiring a hefty $5,000 travel fee per individual.

As an empowered and financially independent woman, this sum is utterly beyond my means. Hence, I am compelled to urgently launch this campaign.

In light of these circumstances, I have decided to launch a fundraising campaign to evacuate my family.

* $50,000 for Immediate Support: The campaign aims to cover the necessary funds to cover the travel fees required for a safe and prompt passage through the Rafah Crossing from Gaza to Egypt, to make sure my family is in a safe place, where the cost per person amounts to 5 thousand dollars, and 2500$ for each kid with a total of 50 thousand dollars.

* The additional $2000 is required for the transportation costs between Al-Zawayda town to Rafah City.

Do not view the lives of my family as more numbers; Kholud has the most beautiful, warm, and kind heart. Reham is a teacher and also a perfect mother for 3 beautiful kids. Oday, Mohammed, and Feras are filled with love and hope. I raised them with care, and each of them had dreams and aspirations. Feras dreams of becoming a manager in a big company. Mohammed dreams of being a famous lawyer and stands for human rights. Oday dreams of having a shop for flowers. My parents are beautiful souls; my father is a teacher and my mom is also a housewife. They care for people, cats, and flowers.

My large Gaza family is filled with love and warmth, and losing them is a tremendous loss. I appreciate your efforts and time in reading my plea. I never expected to find myself in this situation. It is incredibly challenging to navigate these circumstances as an independent woman proud of her financial independence, finding herself in this dire situation.

I understand the value of every donation and the effort behind it. I assure you that all funds will be strictly used for the evacuation of my family.
