Help Barbara and Carl save their beloved dog, Kenya

This is Kenya, the beloved dog of DC community leader Barbara Cooper and her 12-year-old son, Carl. She's been in and out of the vet's office over the past week because she hasn't been eating—her weight has dropped down to a frightening 54 pounds, and she's completely lethargic. The snowstorm delayed Kenya's followup appointment until today, and the results we got with the diagnostics were dire. Her kidney measurements are so elevated that the machine can't even read it, and she needs to be put on an IV immediately. She has been transferred to Friendship Animal Hospital, but overnight treatment tonight and tomorrow is estimated to top $6000, not to mention any abdominal ultrasounds for a closer look at her kidney that could reach $8000 in total. We have spent the initial $2000 that we raised and have raised the total now.
