Just over a week ago, our lives turned upside down when my sister, Felicity Merrick (Fliss), a vibrant 39-year-old mother of two adorable boys, Jack (7) and Harry (1) was diagnosed with breast cancer. This news came as a shock to all of us, especially since there is no history of breast cancer in our family. Fliss has always been the epitome of health and vitality—actively enjoying life on the Gold Coast, breastfeeding her youngest, and preparing to re-enter the workforce in a role she was excited about.

Unfortunately, life had other plans, and instead of starting her new job, Fliss is now gearing up for the toughest battle of her life: undergoing 6 months of chemotherapy, a mastectomy, hair loss - and facing mounting medical costs. Despite having private health insurance, the expenses are overwhelming. One of the essential drugs in her treatment costs $6,000 alone, and we are already looking at out-of-pocket costs exceeding $10,000 AUD.

Fliss’s husband, Jason Merrick (Jase) a hardworking builder, is doing everything he can to support the family during this challenging time. However, the financial strain is immense, and every little bit of help would mean the world to us.
