Let's help Carol Dixon

As some of you may have heard, my MIL Carol had a very unexpected heart issue show up during an angiography (better known as a dye test) at the QEII in Halifax last week. The doctors discovered that Carol's heart is nearly totally full of blockages. She has one artery 100% , and the others remain between 60% - 90% blocked! They also discovered she has an extra artery, in which only 30 percentage of the world's population is born with, and unfortunately that artery is blocked as well. She is now waiting for an open heart, quadruple bypass, which she will receive at the QEII. The pending date is for April 25th.

This is so shocking not only for Carol, but to us, her family. We are absolutely beside ourselves imagining what could happen without surgery. We are so thankful doctors found this in time, before Carol suffered any major health issues, a heart attack or worse!

Carol has 5 boys, & 9 grandchildren, and a new one on the way! The grandkids are her whole world. This woman is a God sent to her family. She has the biggest heart and now there's a fear it's failing. We hope, as the doctors said, this surgery adds 20+ years to Carol's life so she can watch all her grandbabies grow up! Each and every child holds a special place in her heart. And "grandma" holds a very special place in each of theirs as well.

Carol is not the type to ask for a hand out. If anything she would give until she had nothing left! Financially, travelling to have this surgery will be tricky for herself & my FIL. She will be in hospital for 5-7 days. And looking at 6-12 week recovery. Between hotel expenses for Medrick and family while visiting. Food and gas. It will be a costly few days. We'd like to help her in any way we can. She half considered opting out due to financial issues, and she needs this surgery!
