Help the Lahey Family after the Eaton Fire
Donation protected
I am writing this on behalf of the Lahey Family. On Tuesday, January 7th their Oma had just come home from the hospital after having a stroke to the home that she had lived in for over 50 years with three generations of children. Just as she had started to settle in the evacuation order for the Eaton Wildfire went out. Oma, Aunt Polly, Ade, and Jordan scooped up their pets and what little they could as smoke filled the air. They have all found temporary safe places to shelter but are figuring out the next steps to find a place to settle in order to work on rebuilding. They need help with funds for what the fire insurance and FEMA aid doesn't cover, including clothing, food, other necessities, and for a longterm place to stay while they rebuild their life.
I had just married into the Lahey family 3 weeks ago. We had chosen the backyard of their family home in Altadena to have our wedding because of how much the house meant to the whole family. Before my wife and stepdaughter moved in with me they had also called that house home. It was the childhood home for my wife's aunts & uncles, herself, and her daughter. Countless friends and neighbors remember parties and get togethers at that home. It was a central hub for everyone to gather at any time and people visited often. It's devastating to lose such a huge piece of so many people's lives.
