Help us beat cancer so cancer doesn't beat us

As some are aware our mum Alison Starke was suffering with a growth in her brain called a meningioma, which was the size of an golf ball. Alison suffered with this for 10 years plus which slowly affected her ability of life. The growth had taken away her speech, sometimes her mobility, which she would require help to move, and would cause her agonising pain daily. After years of going to doctor to doctor and never getting anywhere, they then decided to remove the growth. Alison went in for brain surgery back in September last year to get the meningioma removed to give herself a better chance of survival and her life back. Luck was starting to be on our side because it worked and we saw a big improvement in Alison's life, and she was able to move around independently, and was smiling more and more everyday. But we started noticing something wasn't quite right as she was going backwards again.

At the start of this month we got some more horrible news. Alison was diagnosed with stage 4 Breast cancer that has spread to multiple areas throughout her body and her bones. It has progressed into her left arm that she is unable to move it anymore.

Our dad Kelvin is Alison's carer and helps her with her needs, well-being and hygiene. Due to her needing medical treatment in Adelaide and Kelvin is required to be there, not only as a husband to support her during this time, but also as a carer and transport backwards and forwards from lincoln to Adelaide. This then leads to no financial income as our dad also runs a small farm and is a bus driver for a local school.

Alison is 48 years old and is a mother of 4 children and has 3 grandchildren with one more about to arrive into this world.

We are seeking any sort of donations to help our mum and dad can relax a little financially while they focus on getting our mum back on a healthy track.
