HELP MAKE MEL WELL

I am trying to raise money for my daughter, Melissa Armstrong, a/k/a "Mel Mel", and that beautiful child in the picture with her is her beautiful 9 month old daughter and my grandbaby, Sophee. Sophee has been Mel Mel's life since the day she was born. Sophee is her world. Mel Mel was admitted into Kingwood hospital on April 4, 2015, under the assumption that she had gall stones and needed surgery to remove her gallbladder but little did we know that Mel Mel would be fighting for her life. On April 5, 2015, I received a phone call from the doctor indicating to me that I needed to come to the hospital as soon as I could because Mel Mel was very sick. Upon admittance into the hospital Mel Mel's liver enzymes level was 30,000, a normal level is 300. She was admitted into ICU because one of the gall stones came out of the gall bladder and became stuck in her bile duct. Therefore, poison started going through her system and into her blood stream. Septis set in and her organs started reacting to the poison flowing through her body. She was septis shock liver and septis shock kidney which lead into acute kidney failure..Mel Mel was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital downtown the following week of being admitted. Mel Mel has been through the following issues during her time in the hospital, and yes, she is still in the hospital: Her heart rate has to be controlled with medicine because any activity, including resting in a bed will cause her heart to tack; she has had three blood transfusions, she has to be on oxygen and her respritatory rate is high due to not being able to properly breathe, the bottom of her lungs became sticky in the beginning and one partially collapsed, she currently has a feeding tube and a drainage tube. They drained 3 liters of fluid from her last week but she has not been able to have anything to eat or drink since her admittance on April 4, 2015, just the feeding tube and that has not always been successful. Mel Mel is still in the hospital and has only been able to see her dauther one time while being in the hosptial due to her conditition and being in ICU. Hopefully, she will be able to see her tomorrow for Mother's Day. Mel Mel has been fighting for over thirty days to get well and to go home to Sophee, but her fight has been hard and tiresome. Being away from Sophee has been the hardest for her, but has also given her the will to continue to fight through the sickness. When Mel Mel is able to come home, she will still need additional surgery to remove the gall bladder after the pancreas has settled down. She will more than likely go home with a feeding tube and possibily a drainage tube. She will not be able to go back to work immediately. Mel Mel has insurance through her employer and luckily, if everything goes to plan, she will eventually be able to return to work, and she does have insurance to help with some of the medical coverage, but I am trying to raise money to help her get back on her feet with her baby girl. She has no money coming in, since she is unable to work and will not be able to work for a while. The place she called home prior to her sickness is no longer available and therefore, she will need to find a new residence and she has a beautiful baby girl that she needs to be able to support.
Please help me get Mel back on her feet and back with her beautiful daughter, Sophee.....Thank you in advance for reading my campaign story and I will keep this updated. Jennifer Galindo
