Honoring Bill Friday: Support for Memorial Costs
Donation protected
Oregon lost a treasure Friday, August 23, 2024. William “Bill” Friday passed peacefully in Bend, Oregon, with his long time partner Franz by his side. He was 81 years old. He was a lifelong cartoonist, artist, and for 45 years worked as a fire lookout in Oregon. He was the author of several books and appeared on OPB’s Oregon Field Guide in 2008 about being a fire lookout. In spite of popularity as an Oregon cartoonist he passed an impoverished artist forced to retire from the Forest Service due to a heart condition. Our family has lost a favorite Uncle who kept us laughing and taught us many things from how to drive to art making, to living how one is meant to live, free and happy. I am hoping to raise money to help the family cover cremation and memorial expenses. Thank you so much for your help.
