Honoring Randy Ross: Help Us Celebrate His Life

Donation protected
On Christmas Day, after the better part of a wonderful Christmas morning with my family, my father, Randy Ross, died suddenly in my arms at the age of 67. One minute we were laughing, telling jokes, watching football, doing gift exchanges, and the next minute he was gone. I just lost my mother on October 10th, and now only months later, I lost my dad.

To my friends who knew the relationship I had with my father, know how close we were. I just lost my best friend, partner, and biggest supporter in life. My dad had a lot of life left, and it definitely was not his time.

I'm in a state of shock. It's been a very emotional last few days. It's hard to lose anyone close to us, but when it's so sudden and in front of the whole family on Christmas, it was a complete nightmare. The whole family is traumatized, and I'm never celebrating Christmas again.

We did everything we could to bring him back until paramedics arrived. We were with my in-laws, who are doctors, trauma nurses, medical students, and active military. Everyone you would want around in an emergency situation, but it still didn't help. 911 was called immediately, and CPR was performed until paramedics arrived. The first officers came flying through the door not 2 minutes after the first calls were placed, paramedics maybe within 4 minutes, and continued to work on him. We followed to the hospital as we rushed over there, but there was nothing the doctors could do. My father's heart had stopped, and when the doctor broke the news to us, it took all I had from just not dying there myself.

To those who knew my dad, also know how much he loved you guys. He loved all my friends, and you would often see us out together. To my father's friends, each and every one of you know how big of a heart he had. He loved you all and would do anything for you. Each person that met him, knew him, or had the pleasure of calling him their friend, I'm sure has an incredible story to tell. My dad was a legend and complete rock star. The stories I have and memories I'll never forget could be solid contenders for the most epic tales of all time. I've dealt with a lot of death over my life, like many of you have, but this one is going to be the hardest.

I'm overwhelmed with everything I've got to do and plan for him in the hours/days ahead. He deserves an incredible send-off, and I know that's what he wanted.

I'm asking for all of your help to make this the most incredible celebration of life, funeral, and day, to honor my father's final wishes.

He wanted the ultimate funeral, which typically I could give him myself, but this happened at the worst time. My father did have insurance and accidental death, but it'll take 30-60+ days to go through. I hate having to do this fundraiser, it's the last thing I want to think about right now, but it's temporarily needed.

I'm personally asking each one of you to help with this. Any donation amount we are extremely grateful for it. 100% of the proceeds will be spent on his funeral and celebration of life. I will also personally guarantee any donation you make, this is that important to us.

Think of this like you're going to the most epic funeral you've ever been to in your life. To those who knew my dad and know me, know that it will be. He had very specific wishes with his choices of where to be buried, which are not cheap, but it's what he wanted. It's his last wishes and I'll do everything I can to honor them. With my mother just dying a couple of months ago, we talked about it a lot, not knowing it would only be 2 months later.

The memorial and celebration of life will be on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at 4:00pm.

The address is below.

455 S Biscayne River Dr, Miami, FL 33169

We will have his celebration of life in true Randy Ross fashion. You are all invited.

On Wednesday, January 8th, the family and any friends or loved ones who would like to attend the graveside burial, will be flying to New York. My father wanted to be buried next to his mother (Barbara Ross) in Beth David Cemetery in Elmont NY.

We'll be doing the burial on Wednesday January 8th in the afternoon at 1PM.

Thank you to my childhood friend and brother Brett Williams for your $2000 donation before this was created and $1000 from a family member, who wishes to remain anonymous. I love you both.

Any contribution helps and you know my dad would want to see everyone there.

I love you all and thank you for doing what you can to help make this happen.
