Honoring Teresa's Life and Legacy
Donazione protetta
Teresa Marie Ontiveros passed from this life to eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 9th 2025.
In 2023 we almost lost her. She went into the hospital because of bad headaches, bruising, and weakness. after running some tests, they realize she had a brain bleed and because of the symptoms they needed to do a bone marrow biopsy to test for cancer . She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. We spent the summer months in the hospital. And by the grace of God and all the prayer warriors, my mom‘s condition improved and she was discharged, and she continued outpatient chemo. Our first visit back with the oncologists, after she had been discharged, they were so surprised with how well she looked and how she had walked in there herself, and he even said that he loved her hair.. You know the hair!
After some months, they considered her in remission. Of course, with her type of cancer she would always need to be on a course of chemo, but it was a light regimen.
Within the last month, she hasn’t been feeling well and had to get several transfusions and they told us that her cancer was back. They started her on a more vigorous regimen or she would have to go every day for two weeks to do chemo and she started that on Monday, January 6th. On Tuesday, January 7th as she was waiting for her ride she became weak and lightheaded, and she fell, but luckily the nurse broke her fall and he took her to the ER.
There, they did some tests and her blood counts were low. Her blood pressure was really low. She said she had been having a hard time breathing so they admitted her into an ER room.. They found that her kidneys were suffering, and she was also fighting an infection due to a side effect of getting blood transfusions. on Wednesday, January 8, they moved her to the ICU in the morning, by the afternoon, they were letting us know that it didn’t look good so we called immediate family that needed to come to say their goodbyes.
And on Thursday morning, January 9th, she was put on comfort care and 30 minutes later, surrounded by her children, sister, niece , nephew and oldest grandkids, she took her last breath here on this earth and went to be with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
My mom was an amazing woman, she loved the Lord, she loved her children and grandchildren, her family, and her friends. She had a servants heart, and she was a caregiver by nature.
although we knew her time was limited on this earth, we did not expect how quickly everything unfolded. We have been asked by several family and friends to start a GoFundMe so they can contribute and help with service and reception cost. And we are so thankful that so many are willing to be involved and help ease the financial burden of her children. During this very difficult time as we grieve the loss of our beloved mother.
Thank you to those of you who can contribute and if you cannot, thank you for taking the time to read this and support us in that way, because the most important thing to us is that people know the type of woman she was, and how much of a fighter she was throughout her entire life.
