It was on a Sunday the 24rth early evening I was on my way to my work site where I musically perform, as I was leaving my vehicle in the parking structure I walked about 10 yards or so when I blacked out for a moment things got bright I lost site but stood still never falling holding on to my equipment cart, then I gradually came to, meet y whole body felt heavy but I still was standing, when I gained conscious I started walking towards the lobby found the first chair and sat for a minute, then I continued towards the stage and rested there for another few minutes and had set my equipment up and performed with no problems. After my gig was over I was rapping things up with difficult in breathing, so I took my time in doing so. Anyway I made it back to my car and got home safely my average drive time from work to home is about an hour. I told my wife of the incident and went to the ER they did tests when they did an EKG they said there was an abnormal reading of my heart they further tested and said I had an heart attack I told them there was no chest pain what so ever. I gotten medi-vac two days later to Oahu admitted into Kaiser Moanalua where I’m waiting for a triple bypass. Doctors doing extensive testing and found three main arteries are shutting down. They told me of my options, one was to take medications to sustain the problem, the other is to go through with the operation with a chance of having a heart attack during surgery. It’s Saturday the 28th of March and I’m still waiting for the doctors decision they mentioned my chances are slim. On top of all of this, I am a dialysis patient which limits my ability to provide for my family, however, my wife who works full-time is now on FMLA (With No Pay) and we’re both out of work for time being. We’re just like any working family with income coming in, but now life has thrown us a curve ball and we’re trying to pay what ever bills we can with whatever savings we have left. We’re not sure how much all these surgery, medications, hospital stay & service will cost us, yes I’m covered under my wife health insurance but we have co-pay and other service cost to cover .. My wife puts on a brave face & pretend she’s okay, but I can see she’s worried, & she’s hurting .. she’s the foundation of Our Family she keeps us together & keep us strong.
