Join Emi's Fight Against Cerebral Palsy

Dear Friends and Family,
I’m organizing this Gofundme for Emi so that she can continue to excel!
As most of you know Emi was born premature and suffered a stroke right around birth. The first year of her life there were delays but nothing the doctors felt were a concern in the beginning. Fast forward to Christmas 2022 just three months after her first birthday, Emi was having Infantile spasms a rare but very dangerous type of epilepsy. After weeks of going back and forth admitted to the hospital the doctors did an MRI and learned that Emi had suffered a left MCA stroke with resultant Cerebral Palsy with the prognosis and the continuing seizures they felt that her best option was brain surgery. After having seizures multiple times a day for five months they stopped which prompted the doctors to cancel the surgery.
Fast forward a few months later with no luck in availability for all different types of therapy Emi needs we discussed best places for her rehab. Doctors in Orlando, Fl gave us three hospitals with exceptional CP clinics. The top hospital being Duke in Durham, NC, prompting our move back home to see if we could get her into the clinic.
Emi now has in home EEGs scheduled every few months to make sure she her medication is keeping her seizures from coming back and is regularly being seen for two of her therapies needed to help her function. Emi has very limited use of her right side of her body. She is currently casted in both feet before her braces come in. The doctors say she will have to have a wheelchair for those long days. She will need more equipment and more therapies as she continues to grow.
All her doctors and therapist are all 2 1/2 hours one way twice a week and in the next couple months they will boost to 4 therapies a week with both my husband and I switching taking her.
We are striving to give Emi her best as close to “normal” life as possible and intense therapies along with her normal therapies will give her, her best change to blossom which comes with a huge commitment of time and financial responsibility.
Every Donation, big or small will go directly towards easing these stressful times, allowing us all to be able to be there 100% for Emi and help with medical bills currently and the foreseeable future.
If you are unable to donate at this time, we ask that you please keep Emi in your thoughts and prayers. Please share this far and wide so that we can reach everyone’s hearts.
And thank you all for your thoughts and prayers thus far, there has been a lot of emotion the last year for all of us, yet Emi has been a huge blessing that we continue to thank God everyday!
