Hello, we are the family, friends and community of Kassi McColley. We are setting this GoFundMe to assist with the expenses associated with Kassi McColley's untimely and tragic death. We also would like to share P.O.Box 122 , Park City, MT if you'd like to forward cards, prefer to donate by check or send any other support to Kassi's surviving family. Mary McColley mom, Kymber Shepard Kassi 8 yr old daughter , KataRaina McColley & Tiffany Guy (sisters).
Kassi was a bright, beautiful, young woman who was loved by many; especially her family. Kassi and her family were still adjusting to the loss of Kassi's Step Father on Christmas 21 , when grief struck again. Kassi had a heart of gold and all her life had a light that anyone who came across her couldn't help to love. She was Beautiful inside and out, talented and highly intellectual.
On January 31-2024 Kassi was asking for help while fleeing a domestic violence situation which became dangerous. Kassi messaged family and friends to alert them of her injuries a male she was dating just caused and said she was left walking from E Maryland on E. Laurel Road trying to get away from him. Kassi stated BF just hemmoraged blood vessels in her eyes , punched her in the jaw and broke teeth. Kassis mother also reported to Laurel PD Kassi called her sister Kataraina and her BF immediately following the message to mom, she was crying saying she was walking toward the TA truck stop and her eyes were so badly beaten they were swelling she was in pain & scared. Kataraina & her BF could hear Kassi abuser following Kassi to the busy road screaming getting closer and closer until Kassi phone went suddenly silent. It was also given to police that he is a violent offender out on parole whom many felt he killed Kassi. Kassi mother was sleeping unfortunately when this all occurred and Kassi was offline by the time she was aware on February 1st.
Kassi's mother filed a missing persons report early Friday February 2nd because no one could find her and she was panicked that rumors were stalling a missing person report to be filed. With continuous, desperate plea's to Laurel PD from the mother being denied; It was apparent little to no search efforts were going to be made by PD & they repeately refused to ping Kassi phone. Kassi's mother, Mary McColley, decided to go look for clues AGAIN on her own. On Sunday February 4th, after 3 days of neglect by Laurel PD, Mary went driving around the trailer court and E Laurel rd , and unexpectedly seen clues IN PLAIN SITE- that she followed which ended up leading her to her own daughter’s body; dismembered, beaten & near unrecognizable- in a ditch, right where Kassi was reported to be last known walking & distressed!
Kassi mother says she was able to see Kassi's torso while driving but wasn't sure what she seen until she pulled over and walked right up to her own child dead. This is the very last thing any mother should ever have to see. Kassi had her boot and numerous items in plain site on or near the road. Mary was not thinking this would happen and was just checking the scene on her way to Billings to take Kassi 8 yr old daughter to a sitter before she created a full search party. So sad that Kymber was in the vehicle when this unfortunate trauma happened. Mary left Kymber in the car to walk up to make sure what she seen from the road was not something else. Called 911 incoherently screaming & near collapsing realizing she has fallen upon her worst nightmare . Mary quickly had to pull it together to distract Kymber who wanted to know what happened asking , if she found her mommy?THIS RESULT IS NOT OK! THEY SHOULD NEVER BEEN THE ONES TO EVEN THINK ABOUT FINDING ANSWERS!
Mary, Kassi's sisters and certainly Kassi's 8 year old daughter have CLEARLY been through enough, without having to think about the unexpected expenses associated with ones untimely death.
Investigations are pending for what family reported may be two separate events of domestic violence and the hit and run which ultimately lead to her death. Pressure is coming from the family to realize no matter what Kassi was on that road that night because of fleeing DV. Otherwise she'd be alive now.
Please help us support Kassi's family through this dark time. We hope to memorialize Kassi and her loving nature. We strive to make changes in the way domestic violence and missing persons cases are handled locally, so no other families have to endure the same struggles as Kassi's. We want to hold accountability to find details of everything Kassi endured during the days in question and not allow a blanket reason.
A widnmill is placed at the location Kassi spent her last few moments on this beautiful earth before her untimely departure. If you would like to see it and pay respects, please do so!
We hope it serves as a reminder of her beautiful life, as well as a catalyst for change in how local authorities handle future cases like Kassi's.
Your generous donation will show support to Kassi's family and go directly to investigatetion , funeral expenses and memorializing a life lost far too young. Anything remaining will go to Kassi's 8 year old daughter Kymber.
RIP beautiful soul! We deeply appreciate all the public support, concern and the efforts to bring Kassi's family peace from the events that lead to her untimely death. It gives us all great comfort knowing you all care so much.
