Ik ben Renske, de dochter van Sjakkie (60 jaar).

Sjakkie heeft een ongelooflijk zware tijd achter de rug. 2025 begon met alleen maar tegenslagen. Eerst moest ze onverwachts afscheid nemen van haar kat, daarna verloor ze drie mensen uit haar directe kring, werd een andere kat chronisch ziek, en als klap op de vuurpijl kreeg ze op 28 januari een ongeluk met haar Canta.

Tijdens een rit moest ze plotseling uitwijken voor iemand op een fatbike zonder verlichting. Hierdoor kantelde haar Canta en kwam ze vast te zitten. De brandweer moest eraan te pas komen om haar eruit te helpen. Op de Eerste Hulp werd ze behandeld voor een hersenschudding en een zwaar gekneusd lichaam. Gelukkig is ze er verder zonder ernstige verwondingen vanaf gekomen.

Maar haar Canta niet. Die is total loss en kan niet meer gerepareerd worden. Omdat het als een eenzijdig ongeval wordt gezien, is de bestuurder van de fatbike niet aansprakelijk en wordt er niets vergoed door de verzekering.

Waarom een Canta onmisbaar is voor Sjakkie

Sjakkie kampt al jaren met ernstige gezondheidsproblemen en zit in de WAO. Ze heeft gewrichtsreuma en is daardoor nauwelijks mobiel. Een Canta was haar enige manier om zich zelfstandig te verplaatsen.

Ze heeft jarenlang gespaard om een tweedehands Canta te kunnen kopen en – met hulp van anderen – er meer dan € 7.000 in geïnvesteerd om hem op te knappen. Maar na minder dan twee jaar is haar enige vervoermiddel verdwenen, net als al het geld dat ze erin gestoken heeft.

Zonder Canta is Sjakkie praktisch aan huis gekluisterd. De dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt is 20 minuten lopen voor een mobiel persoon, maar voor haar kan dit meer dan een uur duren vanwege haar pijnlijke gewrichten. Vaak wordt de pijn zo erg dat ze dagenlang het huis niet meer uit kan.

Maar niet alleen voor zichzelf is haar mobiliteit cruciaal. Sjakkie staat altijd klaar voor anderen. Ze helpt met alle liefde haar kinderen, haar zus, vrienden en familie. Maar zonder Canta wordt dat onmogelijk.

Wie Sjakkie kent, weet dat ze een hart van goud heeft. Al haar hele leven zet ze zich in voor anderen. Ze heeft vluchtelingen opgevangen, vrienden en zelfs vage kennissen in nood een thuis geboden, verwaarloosde dieren gered en zich altijd belangeloos ingezet voor iedereen die hulp nodig had.

Nu is het tijd om iets terug te doen voor haar.

We willen er alles aan doen om ervoor te zorgen dat Sjakkie weer een Canta krijgt en haar vrijheid terugkrijgt. Een nieuwe Canta kost €18.245 en elke bijdrage, hoe klein ook, helpt!

I am Renske, the daughter of Sjakkie (60 years old).

Sjakkie has had a very difficult time. The year 2025 started with nothing but misery. It started with a cat that had to be put to sleep unexpectedly, then three people from her immediate circle who suddenly died, another cat that is chronically ill, and to top it all off, she had an accident with her Canta on January 28.

She had to swerve in the bend for someone on a fat bike without lights and ended up on her side with the Canta. She could not get out of the Canta herself, so the fire brigade had to come to help her up and out. She was treated further in the Emergency Room, and apart from a concussion and a bruised body, she fortunately came out well.

However, the Canta is at the end of its rope and can no longer be repaired. According to the law it was a one-sided accident because she was fortunately able to swerve and did not hit anyone, so the fatbike driver is not liable. The insurance does not cover this either.

Unfortunately, Sjakkie suffers from many health problems and has been on disability benefits for years. Among other things, she has rheumatoid arthritis and is therefore not mobile. She saved hard for years to buy a second-hand Canta and with the help of others she invested more than €7,000 to fix it up. Unfortunately, she was able to use it for less than two years and now the Canta is gone, as is the money.

A Canta is the only way for her to stay mobile and maintain her freedom. The nearest supermarket is a 20-minute walk for someone who is able to walk well, but Sjakkie sometimes takes more than an hour to get there because of her bad joints and extreme pain. The many walks make her pain worse and sometimes she cannot leave the house for days because of this.

In addition to taking care of herself, she also helps many others. She is happy to help me, my brother and sister, her own sister and other friends and family where possible. But for this she needs a Canta.

Sjakkie has a heart of gold and has done everything, absolutely everything for others for years. She is always there for me and her other children, she has taken in countless refugees, taken in friends, family and vague acquaintances in her home in times of need. She has taken in dogs and cats that were neglected by their owners. Nothing has been too crazy for her, and she has never asked or received anything in return. Sjakkie always takes care of others, and it is time for others to take care of her for once!

We want to do everything we can to ensure that Sjakkie gets a Canta again and regains her mobility and freedom! She deserves a helping hand and after 60 years of helping others, she deserves others to help her out instead of the other way around.

A new Canta costs € 18,245. Every little bit helps, and we want to achieve this for her so badly, she really deserves it. Will you help us give this golden person a golden Canta?
