Manfred's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Greetings to everyone who will read this,
Many of you already know that on October 11, 2019, Manfred Fischbeck was hit by a car on Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia while crossing the street at a cross-walk to enjoy a bit of dinner before co-conducting the Group Motion Workshop with Brigitta Herrmann.
He was hit hard (the police report said 40 mph in a 25mph zone) and has been hospitalized ever since. His injuries are severe and ongoing, the most severe of which have been abdominal injuries, in addition to multiple orthopedic injuries. . He was in intensive care for 5 weeks, and has undergone at least 7 surgeries with full anesthesia. Despite all of this, he is strong and continuing to meet the challenges of his medical issues, which are extensive. His attitude is as beautiful as the person you know him to be.
His ongoing issues lie mainly with the abdominal injuries -they require constant medical attention. His medical care needs are now moving into a place where they will be considered long-term, and he is actually possibly meeting the most difficult part of his journey, where he will soon be leaving hospital care and moving to an LTACH (long term acute care hospital) where he can stay up to 30 days (as we currently understand). After that, he will most likely need a skilled care facility for some time, and/or a place to be where he can continue to receive the care he requires . Soooooo, this is where we are.
All of you know him as a most beautiful and gentle human, most generous of spirit and heart, and inimitable in his humor and positive energy, not to mention his abounding creative brilliance and his infectious enthusiasm for making the world a more beautiful and healthy place through the practices of dance and music.
These funds would go towards his medical bills, his continued care where there are gaps with his insurance, and assistance with travel for his daughters to come and support him and Brigitta through all of these steps, and any other unexpected costs that may arise. Its a whirlwind!!!
Please consider donating to this campaign with the idea we are doing this in the spirit of the collective creative awareness and support for one so influential and dear to all of us.
