Marco Landin, a lifelong veteran of the stage and circus, was violently assaulted at Electric Daisy Carnival on Friday night, June 17 while performing on stilts for the public, an act which resulted in both of his arms being broken in several places, as well as a minor concusion.

This was an intentional attack by an assailant described as an "average young white guy," who was apparently "looking for a fight", by his own words.  The assailant was being agressive towards Marco's fellow performers before deciding to attack Marco from behind.  He lifted Marco by both stilts, and slammed him forward on to the concrete, breaking both arms in the process.

The attacker has not yet been apprehended. He was pinned by one of the security escorts, but his cohorts descended on the security escort, prying him off and freeing the assailant.

We have received information that this group of aggressors were witnessed causing fights & disturbances throughout the weekend.  We still have hope that we can identify them and bring them to justice, and prevent others from suffering the way that Marco is. If anyone was present at EDC that Friday and witnessed the attack, please contact us.

Marco is in stable condition, but his arm injuries have rendered him incapable of pursuing his vocation for the next year. And it will be a difficult and expensive year, filled with surgeries and medical bills, not to mention the  usual burden of all other financial obligations.  The frustration over not being able to his work due to his injuries is multiplied by the rising threat of debt and financial stress.

We are asking for you all -community, family, and friends- to open your hearts and help support Marco. This attack has incapacitated him for 9-12 months.  Nearly all of his upcoming performance contracts this year call for quadruped (four legged) stilts, which will be impossible to perform with both arms and wrists in rehabilitation.

Performers exist in seasons of feast and famine, and this attack has disabled him for the most profitable
part of their year. Marco and his wife, Heather, (who is by his side during his recuperation), make 80% of their yearly income between the start of summer and the end of fall. No work means no income, which is why we are asking for everyone's support in their time of need. Not only do they have their every day expenses, but now they are facing the challenge of medical costs resulting from this agressive assault.

Marco Landin is a beautiful human being and an amazing performer whose goal is simply to bring joy & wonder to everyone around him.  And that's what makes this random and unprovoked attack all the more senseless.

So here is our chance to show him and Heather some love by giving a little magic back to someone who gives so much to all of us.

Please support this fundraiser, and help us make this tragic episode a little easier for them to bear!
