Mozambique Cyclone Idai Food
Donation protected
My name is Daniel Bladow and am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Mozambique and now I work alongside other farmers in northern Mozambique. Cyclone Idai made landfall about 2-weeks ago and resulted in the death of thousands and displacement of hundreds of thousands of people in central Mozambique. It is a living nightmare for the peoples affected as families have been separated, disease begins to spread, water levels remain high, clean water is scarce, food is short, and all crops have been destroyed.
Working with farmers in Northern, Mozambique, we have 4-ton and 8-ton trucks. We are coordinating supply deliveries from our region to the affected region. We will be making 1-2 trips in April and are raising funds to allow us to make monthly delivers of foods and goods for the next year.
Here is a breakdown of how your money will help those in the affected region:
USD 2000 - covers the cost of production and transportation for the 8-ton truck filled with 4,400 lbs Bell Peppers, 8,800lbs Tomatoes, and 4,400 lbs of cabbages.
USD 1000 - covers the cost of production and transportation for the 4-ton truck
USD 500 - covers the cost of transportation for one truck
USD 250 - covers the cost of production for 2,200 lbs of bell peppers
USD 100 - covers the cost of productions for 2,200 lbs of tomatoes
USD 50 - covers the cost of production for 2,200 lbs of cabbages
USD 25 - covers the cost of production for 2,200 lbs of Eggplant
We will primarily be delivering and helping with food relief. Once we have a better understanding for what is needed in the regions and in the temporary-housing-camps we will tailor our deliveries to the needs.
Here are two other donating options that are active in the affected regions:
Gorongosa National Park – Cyclone Relief Fund

United Nations – Mozambique Cyclone United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund

Your help will alleviate hunger in a region that so desperately needs support. Thank you.
Estamos Juntos,
Daniel Bladow
I will be directly responsible for moving the funds to our bank account in Mozambique. We have an accountant on staff who has added an account to track all funds we receive and the usage of those funds. If you have any concerns please leave a comment or send me a message.
