We love to feed people. It's what we do. In times of crisis, joy, sorrow and celebration, food helps to nourish the soul. Good food is what we all need to get through this global tragedy -- aside from a kickass vaccine and a mountains of PPE.
Feed the Need is raising funds to pay for meals that will go directly to frontline healthcare workers who are working long hours and often cannot leave the hospital to get food, and supporting locally owned business struggling during the shutdown.
We have created an opportunity for you to help the businesses that you know and love to stay in business AND boost the morale of people deeply affected by this crisis. Multitasking at its best!
Feed the Need will facilitate creation and delivery of delicious, satisfying and safe meals (individually packaged) to hospital workers and others in need across the GTA.
Money donated will go directly to local food service partners (restaurants, caterers & bakeries). Food goes directly to hospital staff and those in need.
As a guideline (but every dollar counts!) this is what it takes to feed the need:
$10 buys 1 frontline staff a meal
$20 buys 2 frontline staff a meal
$50 buys 5 frontline staff a meal
$100 buys 10 frontline staff meals and snacks for the day
$250 buys meals for one-quarter of an entire shift of frontline staff for a day
$500 buys meals for one-half of an entire shift of frontline staff for a day
$1,000 buys meals for an entire shift of frontline staff for a day
Mia Brown, Kacey Siskind & Kari Hollend are the founders of Feed the Need. They will be withdrawing funds themselves and delivering them to the vendors individually. Each vendor will be paid before the hospital drop.
